CBL Masterclass for Teachers
Coaching teachers on how to implement CBL, in order to improve the teaching experience, and impact thanks to a customized education.
The course is organized in three pillars:
- A brief intro to level the teachers on CBL knowledge and methodologies, and expose them to the education tools related to it;
- A hands-on approach to share how is executed a CBL course from the students/teachers perspective.
- Teachers’ reflection on their insights, input or questions, with the proper course in mind
Program
- Getting to know each other.
- Quick overview on CBL methodology and tools.
- Dealing with challenge owners. How to look for them and then manage their expectations?
- Selecting challenges and combining it with the process with interdisciplinary team-forming to offer students project ownership
- Exploring the problem space: from challenge to problem? How to slice an open-ended challenge into a problem to be addressed in the course project
- Problem validation beyond second-hand research. How to get out students of the building and talking to other people like experts?
- Technical feasibility of the identified solution and how to turn the stakeholders’ network into a value network
- Prototyping, experimentation and piloting of solution as the end result of the course
- Co-creation with students and challenge owners
- Next steps: activities after the course
For who: Teachers who have done the CBL Introduction hour and/or are aware of the basic principles of CBL.
Time investment: 8 hours in the training day
