Analyze

The analysis phase is foundational to effective course design, providing a clear understanding of the context, stakeholders, and requirements that shape your design and development.

How to Work With the Tools?

Below you see the three steps with estimated time per tool. Here are some options to work with these tools:

The creation of any course starts with getting clearity on the preconditions. Completing this tool will help you to make the right decisions during the design phase.

TO DO

Download the Precondition Analysis Template. Read the explanation and fill out the template.

The combination of the 10 CBL dimensions can vary depending on interests, motivations, context, resources and the type of course you are working with. This is why TU/e innovation Space has developed the CBL Aspiration Wheel to identify which CBL dimensions you can best focus on, based on the specifics of your situation. If you find it hard to know where to start, use this tool to determine your focus.

TO DO

Download the CBL Aspirations Wheel. Read the instructions and fill out the tool.

The Design Brief will help you complete the analysis phase and make decisions. You'll summarize what you are planning to do and collaboratively create an action plan for the design process.

TO DO

Download the Design Brief Template and answer the questions. Make sure all team members agree on the Design Brief as it is the backbone of the design phase.
