Summary of the project

The "Preparing the New Generation of Industrial Designers" project at TU/e's Industrial Design Department has been focusing on revolutionizing industrial design education since its proposal in March 2020. It has been working on integrating Challenge-Based Learning (CBL), enhanced coaching methodologies, and digital platforms into the curriculum. This initiative has been addressing evolving learning styles and needs, with an emphasis on hands-on, real-world problem-solving skills. The project has been involving the continuous update and adaptation of existing courses and educational strategies to meet the demands of modern students and the evolving field of industrial design.

Aim of the project

The aim of the project has been to elevate educational standards in industrial design by introducing innovative learning methods. It has been aspiring to promote self-directed learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technological adaptability. This approach has been aiming to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the rapidly changing industrial design industry. The project has been seeking to prepare students for future challenges by fostering an environment instrumental to creativity, critical thinking, and the practical application of learning, ensuring students are industry-ready upon graduation.
