Summary of the project

The project will make 4GA40 future proof by changing it from a DBL course into a CBL course. The courses will be renewed into a CBL case, where the students are given a problem, much resembling real-world problems, and formulate the RPC (requirement, preferences and constrains) themselves. This way the students are given more freedom to take the lead. Currently there is also a lack of support in laser cutting, and 3d printing parts takes long time, restricting the freedom to improve their design, and learn from mistakes.

Aim of the project

The objective of the project is to study the difference in terms of the learning dynamics and learning outcomes between DBL and CBL. The students will be (implicitly) asked to define their own objectives and find out the requirements and constrains during the CBL course, which adds a new dimension in their learning matrix. This is expected to force them to think deeper and more innovatively, do more analysis and collaborate on a deeper level. The effect of such change is yet to be seen and analysed, and this course forms a basis of a nice subject study.
