Summary of the project
The project has been providing a tangible tool for student groups and their tutors, offering material scaffolding for developing self-regulating and reflective skills. Regulative issues have been addressed, and the project agenda has been structured, with added suggestions to enhance visibility and transparency. The project has been using a design research methodology and has developed and implemented a tool (Veelenturf, 2023) in two rounds across three educational contexts within TU/e. This has resulted in a tool designed to enhance students' self-regulated and reflective learning in various TU/e contexts. The project has created a tool supporting dialogue between tutors and students regarding learning goals and the planning and monitoring of processes within a CBL context.
Aim of the project
The project has aimed to develop a tool that enhances self-regulated and reflective learning, student autonomy, and ownership within a CBL context. The tool has supported team collaboration, communication, and group work processes. Its goal has been to facilitate dialogue within student groups and between tutors and students regarding learning goals and process planning. Additionally, the tool has promoted autonomy, self-directedness, and process awareness through reflective practices. Designed for scalability, it could be used by trained tutors and has encouraged group discussions, shared reflections, concrete planning, and decision-making. The project's long-term objective has been to foster increased student ownership in engaging with CBL activities.
