IoT education improvement
Summary of the Project
The project has been developing an educational enhancement for the course 7ZM5M0 Smart Urban Environments by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Recognizing the importance of data in Smart City development, this initiative has aimed to help students understand and utilize IoT devices for data collection and processing. The course has provided students with IoT kits, based on RaspberryPi, to promote basic computer literacy and practical experience with IoT technology. The project has focused on creating multiple IoT ecosystem demonstration setups that correspond to different value cases related to Smart City concepts. These setups have been developed to give students a tangible, small-scale demonstration of the value that data and ICT can bring to urban environments.
Aim of the Project
The primary aim of this project has been to enhance the educational experience by providing students with practical, hands-on learning opportunities in IoT and Smart City technologies. By developing and implementing these IoT demonstrations, the project has sought to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The expected outcomes have included helping students realize the full potential of IoT ecosystems, creating interactive digital content to accompany the demos, and developing quality educational materials. This initiative has aimed to make the learning experience more engaging and effective, ultimately preparing students for future challenges in the field of Smart City development. The project's success has been measured by the students' ability to interact with and understand IoT devices and their applications in urban environments.
