DMODE Differentiation in Modular On-demand Digital Education
Summary of the project
The "D-MODE – Differentiation in Modular On-demand Digital Education" proposal has been focusing on revolutionizing digital education at the Eindhoven School of Education (ESoE) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This project, which has been spanning 12 months, builds upon the C-MODE project's framework for challenge-based, modular digital education, specifically targeting the Mechanical Engineering course 4DB00 ‘Dynamics and Control of Mechanical Systems’. The aim has been to create a more learner-centered environment and transform lecturers into guides, coaches, and motivators, thereby enhancing the online learning experience and maximizing TU/e's value in digital education.
Aim of the project
The main objective of the project has been to optimize teaching and learning within the course 4DB00, offering students a more on-demand education model that allows for personalized learning paths. The project has been working to reorganize and enhance online learning materials, adding new formative assessments and challenges. The ultimate goals have included increasing student motivation, optimizing the use of teaching and learning resources, and reducing teacher workload, all while fostering a more engaging and effective learning experience. This project aligns with broader efforts to improve digital and blended learning, focusing on personalizing education and providing students with the necessary guidance to shape their own learning journeys.
